Devlog 0 - prototype
Here comes Mothershiping Yeah! My attempt at an twin stick shooter tower defense game.
Game works in rounds like in Dome Keeper, during peace you mine asteroids and hunt cargo ships and after that is over you must defend your Mothership from drones. If you provide to the Mothership - Mothership provides to you. Bring those minerals to the Mothership and get upgrades in return.
Currently there are two cannon upgrades:
- Increase number of canons
- Enable burst fire
Regular upgrades are stat increases that can be chosen from a random draft of 3:
- Canon cooldown
- Bullet damage
- Mothership health
- Mothership health regen
- Lazer cooldown
- Lazer damage
Later rounds are pretty tough to manage, but balance is not something that was fine tuned yet. There are 3 types of ships you will encounter. First is the cargo ships that don't have combat capabilities - you can hunt them for sought out silica ore. Then comes the attack drone, your general attack spaceship. Third is the swarm of 10 small drones attacking in battle formation.
Peace rounds take 60 seconds , while defend phase is until all units are defeated.
Really looking feedback for everything except art as that is placeholder anyway. I'm looking for what is and isn't fun, what works and what doesn't. Is this worth pursuing further? Let me know!
